  1. 1950McGuinness converts a Bridgetown apple-processing facility into Acadian Distillers after Korean War steel restrictions block a new-build plan.
  2. 1961With restrictions lifted, Acadian begins distilling its own spirits.
  3. 1968By 1968, Acadian products are sold in every Canadian province except British Columbia.
  4. 1975Acadian makes an inventive push into the US market, using the Acadian diaspora story as part of its positioning.
  5. 1987McGuinness closes the Bridgetown plant for good in January 1987.
