- 1946Frank McMahon and Max Bell, working with the Reifel family, establish Alberta Distillers Ltd. in Calgary.
- 1958Alberta Premium is released and later grows into the world's bestselling all-rye whisky.
- 1964National Distillers buys Alberta Distillers after the success of Windsor Supreme/Windsor Canadian in the US.
- 1970In the 1970s, the distillery switches from malt conversion to broad-spectrum microbial enzymes grown on site to better handle rye mash viscosity.
- 1987Fortune Brands acquires the distillery and its brands; the business later sits within Beam Suntory and now Suntory Global Spirits.
- 2023Launch of Reifel Rye - a 100% rye whisky honouring the Reifel family's Prohibition 'Rum Row' legacy (5th-generation George C. Reifel).
