- 1779Founded on the site of an old Dominican friary (the Abbey of St Mary of the Island); first owners Thomas and Francis Wise.
- 1867Part of the Cork Distilleries Company amalgamation (Francis Wise junior having sold to Cork Distilleries).
- 1920Ceased production when fire destroyed a large portion; became the administrative HQ of Cork Distilleries (Morrison's Island), then (from 1946) the main bottling and distribution centre of Irish Distillers Group.
