- 1856Original building constructed as a flax-spinning mill by William Dargan, the great contractor who built Ireland's first railway (Dublin-Kingstown, 1832-37).
- 1878Former Chapelizod flax mill converted to a distillery (£30,000-£40,000) and taken over by the Distillers Company Ltd of Edinburgh - their first investment outside Scotland or England.
- 1921Ceased production - an unsettled time in Ireland, politically and commercially.
