  1. 2001Ralph Erenzo buys the historic Tuthilltown Gristmill property in Gardiner NY (intending a rock-climbing camp), after his Manhattan climbing gym lease ended.
  2. 2002NY Governor Pataki signs a law letting distillers under 35,000 gallons get a Class-A license for $500 (down from $39,575) - which Erenzo discovers.
  3. 2003Tuthilltown established; Erenzo becomes the first legal distiller in New York in four generations (~80 years). Partners with engineer Brian Lee ('OK. Let's build a distillery.').
  4. 2007The Farm Distillery Act passes after a two-year campaign by Erenzo - distillers using >=75% NY-grown materials may run a tasting room.
  5. 2008Erenzo founds the New York Craft Distillers Guild.
