- 1938Hector Authier buys the former brewery site and forms Quebec Distillers Company, beginning distillery operations at Valleyfield.
- 1945Lewis Rosenstiel's Schenley Distillers buys the plant and rebuilds it as a whisky distillery.
- 1948Valleyfield's first whisky, Golden Wedding, is ready for market two years after Schenley's rebuilding effort.
- 1972Schenley revives Gibson's as a Canadian whisky using spirit distilled at Valleyfield.
- 1990United Distillers buys the Valleyfield plant and brands after the late-1980s ownership turbulence.
- 2008Diageo becomes the owner of Valleyfield and later turns it into a key Crown Royal and innovation site.
- 2018Diageo sells the VO, 83, and Five Star brands to Sazerac but continues blending and bottling them on contract at Valleyfield.
