  1. 1888Five breweries combine to form the firm that later becomes Eigashima's whisky operation at Akashi.
  2. 1919Eigashima takes a whisky licence and begins broadening its spirits range, even though large-scale in-house whisky distillation does not yet follow.
  3. 1964By the Tokyo Olympics period, whisky is definitely being distilled on the site's tiny pot stills.
  4. 1984The distillery is upgraded into a whisky-focused plant, though still on a very small scale.
  5. 2013A 15-year-old whisky finished in native konara oak is released, showing White Oak's experimental cask approach.
