- 1879Ben Wyvis distillery built by Robert Burn at Ferintosh, near Dingwall.
- 1887Alfred Barnard visits; records annual output ~10,000 gallons, 4 washbacks and a 13,000-gallon still.
- 1893Acquired by a Belfast firm; run under Belfast control for about 20 years.
- 1914Becomes a division of Distillers Finance Corporation.
- 1922Bought out by the Distillers Company Ltd (DCL).
- 1923Last whisky departs the distillery.
- 1924DCL liquidates the Ferintosh Company; licence transferred to subsidiary John Begg Ltd.
- 1926Distillery closed; buildings later fell into decay. Warehouses used by Scottish Malt Distillers into the early 1980s.
